"Realising dreams - preserving value!" This founding principle is currently being implemented by more than 5,000 employees. Everything started in Frankfurt in 1974 with door renovation. Our customers were instantly impressed by the PORTAS solution, and one year later we had already started our systematic expansion programme which has continued up to the present day. In 1975 numerous PORTAS contractors opened up throughout the whole of Germany, followed by the first outlets in Austria in 1976. Success continued, new renovation solutions were included in our programme, opening the way for further expansion. Today our innovative home improvements are provided by more than 500 specialist contractors in 13 European countries.
